ABOUT

Liana is an award winning photographer based in London. She works online predominately, but her work has been screened at various festivals all around the world. Some notable achievements include having two of her black and white film photos of antiques published in TeenInk Magazine in 2003 and winning third place at the Connecticut Four Town Fair state photography competition that same year.

In 2008, she earned an Associate’s of Arts degree in Photography and completed an unpaid internship for FuelTV as a sports photographer. She won first place in Photography and Fine Arts at the Eastern States Exposition in 2009 and again in 2015.

From 2007-2013, Liana was invited to New York Fashion Week to photograph the models. In 2010, she won the SEVEN Fund “I Am an Entrepreneur” Photography competition for her photo of a homeless woman on the streets of Paris, France, and worked as a sports photographer for the Harlem Globetrotters, traveling with the legendary team. One of her wedding photos was published in Vogue Italia in 2011.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Filmmaking from New York Film Academy in 2015, her work gained further recognition with wins at the Prague International Film Festival (2015) and Zlin Film Festival (2017). Her first feature film, “This Hovel Has Eyes” premiered to critical acclaim and was screened at Bio Oko cinemas during lockdown. She was also a finalist at the Champs-Élysées Film Festival 2015, Ekotopfilm 2021, and Les Films de la Toile 2021. One of her short films played across TOHO cinemas in Japan.

She once developed vegan 35mm film which was very costly to make and nobody wanted to buy it so it was discontinued.

A Connecticut Yankee who moved to King Arthur’s Court (UK) in 2017, Liana brings her American perspective to British shores. Her camera collection consists of a Canon 514XL-S which she inherited from famed sports writer, John Woodcock, Rolleiflex 2.8F TLR Twin Lens Reflex Camera, Lomo’Instant Automat Sundae Kids Edition, and Olympus PEN F 35mm Half Frame Film Camera with Zuiko 38/1.8 Lens.
